How To Prevent Accidental Purchases on Kindle Fire

As you may have picked up from a previous post, I have bought my husband a Kindle Fire. My darling son (off sick from school) has been playing with it all day. To my horror when looking at my emails I realised that he had purchased several apps!

I decided to put Parental Control onto the Kindle Fire. To do this:

1. Open the main menu by touching the top of the screen and pulling downwards.

2. Touch on the plus sign (with More… ¬†written underneath)

3. Touch on ‘Parental Controls’ menu to open, select ‘On’.

4. Enter a password, confirm and then finish.

5. Once password is set you can ¬†select the ‘Password-Protect Purchases’ option select ‘On’ or other password protected options.

Done!

Every time some one tries to complete and action which has been protected the Parental Controls password dialogue box opens and you need to enter the password to proceed.

To change your password follow steps 1 and 2. In the Parental Controls menu you will see an option to ‘Change Password’
